My passions: passing on knowledge and languages
I am passionate about German, French and passing on knowledge. These three elements are central to my activities: translation and teaching (French classes and German classes). I hope to be able to instil some of this passion in my students. My leitmotiv in lessons: learning shouldn’t be a chore!
My background in teaching and translation
I did a master’s degree in teaching German while working as a French assistant in Vienna, Austria, where I lived for 2 years. This trip gave me the opportunity to discover many things, two of which were particularly significant and decisive for my career:
- Firstly: I absolutely wanted to work with German;
- Secondly: when you love what you do and you manage to convey that interest, everyone comes out a winner.
On my return from Austria, I decided to do a Master’s degree in German-French translation, with a major in literary translation. I didn’t completely give up on the idea of teaching, but I looked for and found a way to combine these two passions. That’s what, little by little, led me to offer my services in linguistics, but also my teaching skills to motivated and interested people.
My experience
Among the jobs I’ve held, I’ve been a project manager in a translation agency, I’ve taught German in secondary schools and vocational colleges, I’ve been an account manager for Switzerland so German has always been at the centre of my occupations.
I now put my skills to work for you, offering translations from German into French and vice versa, as well as German or French lessons. Of course, I can also proofread your documents (dissertations, theses, press releases, letters, etc.) to ensure that no typing or grammatical errors have crept into your text.
